What Happened To Someone Else?

          I hate to break the news to you, but a well respected member of the Lord’s Church passed away the other day. In case you didn’t hear about it, his name was Someone Else. Someone’s passing creates a terrible void that will be difficult to fill. Else has been a hard working Christian. He was truly a servant of the Most High.  In fact Someone did far more than his share of work.

          Whenever leadership was the priority everyone looked to him. Someone Else would always be looked upon to fill the gap, to make great things happen. In fact when any project came up in the church everyone assumed that Someone Else would handle it to the best of his abilities. Someone was supposed to teach class, lead the young people, and do all the calling. If a person in the community was in the hospital everyone knew that Mr. Else would be there! And no one got bent out of shape when a funeral visitation was expected, after all Someone Else would always take care of it too. Someone Else was looked upon to create an atmosphere of love and harmony.

          I’m not telling you anything you didn’t already know, but Someone Else was a wonderful Christian. He would arrive at the assembly early and never leave until all the work was done. He sometimes appeared almost super-human. To tell you the truth I think everyone expected too much of Someone Else! Yes, Someone Else’s death has left a tremendous void. So what are we going to do now? We can’t depend on Someone Else any longer. If the Church of our Lord is to grow in grace and knowledge don’t you think it is time for we start making a difference instead of leaving it to Someone Else?
